Can you choose to be positive? Absolutely! It is not the circumstances that define us, but how we choose to react to them. So, yes, you can choose to improve your health and change your behavior to make it happen through positive thinking (and lots of prayer). Where to start?
Amway co-founder Rich DeVos agrees with me that we can choose the positive thinking course. He says in his book, Ten Powerful Phrases for Positive People, that “A positive attitude is a choice, like walking to the other side of a street to avoid trouble or making a 180-degree turn when you feel you’re headed in the wrong direction. Once we decide to make that choice, being positive becomes a habit.”
My self talk can get out of control and not in a good way. According to brain trivia, the average person has about 70,000 thoughts per day. Why not take these thoughts and choose to make them positive. Apply and say these following phrases that Rich DeVos writes about in his book in your day to day communication. Say them to yourself, then to the people that surround you like family, friends and co-workers, and see where it takes you. I know it will make a difference, moving you forward to better health and lifestyle habits!
