Today was a hungry day for me. My appetite soared! Lunch was over by 11:00 a.m. and, yes, I ate breakfast too!
As the days get shorter, the sun hides behind the clouds, and in the north country it is getting cold. There is a tendency for me to want to prepare for hibernation. It is harder for me to get up in the mornings and in the afternoons I am ravenously hungry!
But . . .today I learned something significant. Eat enough for breakfast! So, even though my breakfast and lunch were all done by 11:00 a.m., I was not starving in the afternoon, and had more control when it came to dinner.
Also, keep moving. Exercise is so important. It lifts your mood, and helps reduce your appetite. Get outdoors and soak in fresh air when possible. If you hate the cold, find anything to keep yourself moving, like a DVD or try a Rebounder (mini trampoline) for something different. Or, if you’re at the office, do some stretches at your desk. Be creative. For example, I know of one client that takes the stairs when she needs to deliver paperwork from one office to another.
